8 Tips for walking at home
Set targets. Start slow and gradually increase the target
- Stick to your plan. If you have set a time every day to walk try your best not to alter it
- Motivate yourself when you walk on your own
- Drink water during your walk
- Wear proper walking shoes
- Walk with a friend or your family as it is safer and much more fun
- Warm up or stretch before you start your walk. A 5 minute low intensity walk is a good warm up.
- Cool down after your walk. A 5 minute low intensity walk at the end of the exercise is a good way to cool down.
