8 Tips for when you exercise on a treadmill

  • Set targets. Start slow and gradually increase the target
  • Wear the right shoes to avoid injuries and do not over dress. The lighter the clothes the better you will perform the exercise
  • Warm up before you start. A 5 minute slow walk is a good warm up
  • Push yourself to your limits. I found it best to push myself just before the end of the training session
  • Enjoy the exercise and keep boredom out
  • Drink water! As the treadmill burns a lot of calories when working it hard it will also make you sweat a lot. Have a bottle next to you and take regular sips during the routine
  • Cool down after your exercise. A 5 minute slow walk at the end of the exercise is a good way to cool down
  • Do not do the same routine every day
